A Taste of Kaos Chapter 13

This is for you guys. Happy New Year.

Chapter 13

Chase harrumphed. Chrys opened the door, slid out of the car and put her father’s food on the seat. After slamming the door, she watched him start up the car, put it in gear and drive off. She brushed back hair that had blown in her face and looked up to see Kaos leaning against a lamp-post.

His expression was unreadable. Chrys didn’t bother to walk toward him. She was curious to know how long he had been standing there, but she wasn’t in the mood to go through another confrontation.

She got to her car and sighed. She could feel him right behind her. Why? Why did the fates hate her so much? She just wanted to go home and decompress, but the fates were laughing. She turned around and squinted, as the sun shone directly behind him, making him look imposing and menacing.

“What?”

Kaos shoved his hands in his pockets and bowed his head. “I’m sorry. I baited you.”

Well this is different; she’s never had a guy say sorry to her. Well, not since primary school when she pinned Darren Daniels to the ground and made him apologize to her for calling her a cheat, when they had played Dodge Ball. How exactly does a person cheat at Dodge Ball?

She brushed more hair out of her face and sighed. He looked so sorry. She was actually feeling bad about dragging out the Rachel Desi incident. Everyone in the music industry knew about Rachel. She liked to fuck the rockers and sell their dirty secrets. Rumor has it that she had a deal with ‘Riffs’. They paid her at least ten grand for every story she brought them. How could Kaos have been so stupid? Of course, Rachel had an hour glass figure and looked like a fresh-faced farm girl, so men tended to think she was innocent. Or at least, they wanted to think she was innocent until they got her into the bedroom.

He looked up to gage her reaction to his apology. She seemed defensive, tired and wary. He surmised that she was resisting the urge to apologize. She wasn’t exactly known for her willingness to back down for anything.

“You don’t have to say sorry. I fired the first shot, you just responded.”

Chrys was shocked. Kaos had let her off the hook and so easily. He stepped closer to her, invading her personal space. Now the sun was blocked out completely. He reached across and brushed back strands of hair that had again blown into her face. His finger tips brushed her cheek.

She shivered at the contact.

“Cold?”

“No.”

Kaos stared at Chrys. “Then why did you shiver just now? It couldn’t have been because of my touch. So either my touch affected you or you’re cold. Which is it?”

Chrys felt cornered. “You’re provoking me again.”

“It’s just a simple question.”

“Why do you want to know the answer?” Chrys was biding her time, looking for an easy out.

Kaos whispered “Because I want to know if you feel this attraction just as much as I do.”

She couldn’t escape. She had already said that she wasn’t cold, so she was responding to his presence. She cursed herself silently.

“I’m not leaving until you tell me the truth.” He continued.

Frustration and heat encompassed her body “Why do you do this? Chrys countered.

“Do what?” Kaos replied, hunger surfaced, ready to devour her.

“Why do you try to get me to say certain things?” Why do you bait me? Is it some kinda game? Chrys’ anxiety was boiling over.

“You mean why do I ask you about things I already know? Because I want to hear you admit them. Now say you want me and I can leave.”

Dammit it was so easy. Admit she was intensely attracted to him and he’d leave, but her stubborn streak reared its ugly head, demanding that she must not surrender to his whim.

“Say it and I’ll leave.”

He lowered his head and brushed his lips against hers. The contact was so soft. It was like a caress. The result was enough to make her want more. He touched her lips, inducing a tingling sensation.

“This would be so easy if you’d just say it.”

Fire intensified throughout her body. His lips feathered her cheeks, nose and forehead, moving back down to her lips.

“Say it babochka. Say that I want you and no other.”

‘Babochka’… what did that mean? Her mind asked. It was the last cognizant thought she had before her mind turned to mush. His lips lightly pecked her neck. Dammit! He was going to think that she wasn’t saying anything because she enjoyed his kisses. Or he would think that she was admitting that she was attracted to him. She balled her hands into fists, resisting the urge to grab a hold of his shirt.

“Say it.” He urged.

He continued to kiss Chrys across her décolletage. Kaos revelled in the softness of her skin against his lips. The scent of her perfume was intoxicating. She smelled like lavender, vanilla and jasmine. He slipped his hand around the nape of her neck, bringing his body closer to hers. Indecision crept into his mind. Kaos wasn’t sure what he wanted. Either he needed her to admit she wanted him or he would continue to kiss her.

Suddenly he felt a hand tug him from behind, forcing him to step away from Chrys. Kaos turned around to face a confused and angry looking Roar.

“What did she mean by ‘Vasya is your brother?’ huh?”

Crap, the shit had just hit the fan, thought Kaos.

A Taste of Kaos Chapter 12

Thanks Jan. Happy Holidays everyone, this one is dedicated to you!

Chapter 12

Dad? That man was her father? He was taller than she was. He had reddish blond hair, blue green eyes and porcelain skin. Anger engulfed him.

Chrys’ face paled. She looked guilty. “Dad . . . I . . .?

She didn’t get to finish. “Chrysalis Honor Darina Kelly you get your arse to the car this instant! Move it young lady! Get a wriggle on now!”

He was seething, and it was evident to all. Chrys looked as though she was about to cry. Her shoulders slumped. Without a backward glance, she headed toward the door of the restaurant. The spectators looked on in surprise. The Queen Bitch had just been brought to heel by ‘daddy’.

Her father turned toward the table. His eyes narrowed. They zeroed in on Vasili.

“Vasya, I expected you to have controlled this fracas! Why would you permit this public slanging match? I thought you’d have better sense?

Vasya opened his mouth to say something, but nothing came out. Kaos decided to intervene. After all, he had provoked her.

“I’m sorry sir. I started this row.” Chase Kelly looked at Kaos, and then shook his head.

Without a word, he turned around, walked over to the counter, paid for his lunch and walked out.

Kaos felt horrible. His need to push Chrys had resulted in the trouble she was facing from her dad.

* * * * * *

Chase Kelly got into the car and handed the brown bag to Chrysalis, who put it in her lap. She ignored the heat emanating from the bag. She felt as though she had regressed to being five years old, having been caught with her hand in the biscuit tin before dinner. Only this time, her father was the one meeting out punishment, not her Grammy.

“Dad, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have behaved like a fishwife in public. I know it’s unseemly. You taught me better than that.” Chrys said quietly as she waited for his response.
Chase remained silent for a long time. Chrys thought he wasn’t going to say a word. Eventually, he spoke.
“Yes, little Irish I taught you better than that. You were brought up, not dragged up like some no account! How could you let this individual provoke you like that? Hmm, I have never seen you lose control in that way.”

She opened her mouth to respond, but couldn’t find the words. Instead she mumbled. “I don’t know! He just pushes my buttons.”

Chase laughed and shook his head. She looked over at her father, confused.
“What?”
“What? You don’t know little Irish?”
When she shook her head, he chuckled.
“You’re running little one and I always taught you not to run away, didn’t I?”

Chrys was confused. She was running away? Oh shit! No he didn’t think that . . . did he?
“Daddy no, it’s not like that.”
“Then what is it like then, féileacán?”
Hearing her father speaking in Gaelic comforted her. He wasn’t too mad at her. She looked into his blue-green eyes and saw amusement there.
“You’re going to laugh.”
He shook his head.
“Scouts honor.”
“Dad, you were never a Boy Scout.”
Her father laughed. “Just tell me and be quick about it, my food is gettin’ cold.”

She sighed, took a deep breath and said, “He’s a man-whore!”
Her father’s reaction wasn’t what she expected. He burst out laughing. Chrys looked at her father in horror. She couldn’t get him to stop. He laughed so hard that he was holding his stomach for support. Tears streamed down his face.
“A man-whore. Oh God, that’s a good one. A man-whore!”
He wiped his tears away and continued to chuckle.

“Daaar!” She whined. Chase wouldn’t stop laughing. When he looked over at her again, he roared with renewed merriment.
“I’m getting out of this car, if you don’t stop with the laughin’.”
“Okay, okay little Irish, calm down. Goodness, so sensitive is my little one. Explain to you’re old man what a man-whore is.” He chuckled after saying it, but stopped when he saw the look she gave him. Chrys watched her father try to gather himself. When he seemed to regain control, she proceeded to explain her definition of a man-whore.

“A man whore is something you are not. A man whore is a man who can’t keep it in his pants. That sums up Kaos!”
Her father started to laugh again.
“Oh Lord, this is too funny. Man-whore, that’s so priceless.”
“Daaar!”
Chase tried to get some control.
“Okay, okay. So he can’t keep it in his pants. That doesn’t explain why you’re running from him. Is it because you find him attractive? He is a good looking fellow.”

“Dad, are you trying to play match maker?”
“No, I’m just trying to point out, that the reason you got so riled up back there is because you were trying to run from your attraction to that young man….. by fighting with him.”
“Young man? Dad, he’s 41!”
Chase looked over at his daughter in shock.
“He’s 41? He’s far too old for you.”
Chrys giggled. “Are you saying you’re old Daaar?”
“I’m not old, but he’s too close to my age to be dating any daughter of mine!”
“Says the dad who went out with a, how old was she again? Ah yes, she was 28 years old. She’s two years older than me. Remember I’m your daughter who recently turned 26.”

Chrys grinned having made her point, but Chase wasn’t ready to concede just yet.
“But that’s different! Kait isn’t my daughter. You are and you are far too young for him.”
Chrys rolled her eyes. “What? Stop with the 'eye-rollin'. I forbid you to date him.” Chase said indignantly.
She started to laugh uncontrollably.
“Dad, I’m old enough to make my own decisions. Besides, if I can’t date him, not saying I will mind, then you can’t date Kait, on the same principle.”
“Fine then, I won’t date her.”
“Okay, call her and say that your date for tomorrow night is off.”
“How did you know that?”
“Never mind that! Just call her and tell her you’re cancelling your date because you are too old for her! I’ll even give you my phone.”

Chrys dug her phone out of her purse and handed it too him. He seemed too hesitant to take it.
“If I can’t go out with older men then you can’t date younger women.” Chrys declared.
Chase sighed. Chrys had heard firsthand that her dad and Kait had had fun on their first date. Kait had told her that she couldn’t wait for them go out again. Kait also let slip that she was transferring to an agency closer to the city. Chase sighed and Chrys knew she had won.

“All right little Irish, you win this round. But if you do date him, he better be good to you. I mean it. Now get out of the car, my food is cold and I’m grumpy.”
She laughed, leaned over and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
“See you later Grumpy!”

A Taste of Kaos Chapter 11

Thanks Jan, for always making me sound so intelligent. This chapter is for Shar. Hugs sweets.

Chapter 11

Marissa sat on the couch; listening to the interview. Emotions flitted across her face; it was hard to tell how she was taking it. Chrys worked on her upcoming article for the magazine. She had just written the last paragraph, when she heard the tape recorder click to a stop. Looking up, she could see that Marissa seemed to be deep in thought. Instead of questioning her, Chrys continued to work, waiting for Marissa to be the first one to break the silence.

“Do you believe him? Do you think he was telling the truth?”

Chrys sighed and slipped her glasses off, rubbed her eyes and slid them back on.

“He was sincere. I believed him. He really wants to talk to you. But that’s up to you. If you really want to, you can come with me to Ireland and think things over. I’ll be leaving at the end of the month. What do you say?”

Marissa looked torn between running away and confronting Remy. With a heavy sigh, she shook her head. “I need to work this out on my own. No running and I need to break things off with Ben too. It’s not fair to him that I’m conflicted when he wants more.”

Chrys nodded. “I’ll stay here while you make the call.”

Marissa smiled and turned to dial the phone.

* * * * *

Ben didn’t appear to be surprised by Marissa’s admission and request to break up. He seemed relieved. He told her he had suspected that she wasn’t over Remy, but he understood her decision. Her choice to be with Remy was fine, as long as he didn’t mistreat her. Ben, ever gracious, wished her luck and told her to keep in touch. Marissa hung up the phone and looked over at her cousin, who was checking her email.

Chrys looked up. “What?”

Marissa smiled. “Thank you. I don’t want to run, but with the tour ended, I need time to consider my options. Is your offer still open?”

Chrys smiled. “Sure is. We leave at the end of the month. Be prepared to be smothered with love when we get there. The Kelly family are tight knit and very affectionate. You might never want to leave.” Chrys said with a laugh.

Marissa smiled. “It’s just where I want to be, to reflect and consider everything.”

By the time Chrys left it was well after four in the morning. She stood in the driveway, stretching and rolling the muscles in her shoulders. She wasn’t tired. She was too excited. Her interview with Remy was over. She had just finished Marissa’s counterpoint rebuttal. Now she just needed to correct and send it off to her editor. Soon, she would be home in Ireland with Grammy and Grandpa, all her Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins. She could practically smell the whisky and tobacco on Grandpa’s breath.

She couldn’t wait to go Home. She was about to open the door to her Mustang when her cell phone rang.

“Hello?”

“Hello my beautiful butterfly, guess what?”

Chrys laughed. Only Vasili Nikolai would refer to her in that way.

“I’m afraid to ask.”

His husky laugh filtered through the phone.

“I’m going to tell you anyway, even though you’re mean. I’m in town, visiting some family. I would like to take you and my brothers out to lunch. Say you’ll be there. Pleeeaaassseee.”

She giggled. “Your charm has won me over. Where and when?”

“The Retro Restaurant at 1:30. Be there with bells on!”

She shook her head. “You are such a twit Vasya, see you later.”

* * * * *

Chrys walked into The Retro Restaurant, feeling eager to see her old friend. She had met Vasya in London a few years back, on one of her trips to the capital. She looked around until she spotted Vasya’s blond head, above the crowd. His golden locks were slightly waved and a bit longer than fashionable. She watched him brush back some hair and decided to wait and see if he noticed her.

Vasya looked in her direction and grinned. He walked toward her; his silver eyes twinkled with mischief. His arms opened and she walked into them, giving him a hug. She wasn’t normally that demonstrative, but to her close friends she was affectionate. She gave him a squeeze and stood back, admiring his suit. The jacket was a golden color, accompanied by a silk cream shirt and golden slacks. Looking around, she realized how out of place he was, everyone else was wearing jeans.

“Come along luv, my brothers are dying to meet you. Now just remember, we met in London. It was love at first sight, but sadly it was not meant to be, because your family hates me. You know British and all. They forbade us from getting married and we couldn’t elope, because I was still married at the time. So, here we are. I’ve traveled all this way to rekindle our love and pray that you’ll take me back. Got all that? Good.”

Chrys could only laugh at Vasya’s silliness and followed him to his table. She stopped short when she saw Kaos. Vasya was pulled back when he tried to move forward. He was related to Kaos! What the hell? She took a deep breath and let it out. Vasya watched her curiously.

“What’s the matter luv? Overwhelmed by my manliness? Please don’t tell me it’s Kaos. Why do I always lose women to him?” He sighed heavily, but she could tell he was just being dramatic.

“Nothing. Just shocked, that’s all. You know I did a review for a concert of theirs a few years ago. It wasn’t good. I just don’t want to deal with the backlash.”

“Oh well, don’t worry. Wait here, I’ll ask Kaos to be on his best behavior okay?”

She nodded and watched Vasya walk back to the table. He leaned down and spoke . Kaos looked up and over in her direction; his eyes narrowed. Chrys felt the strength being sapped from her limbs. Crap! Heat rose within her body.

Kaos’ own body mirrored her physical reaction. His cock harden and lengthen in his jeans. This time he wasn’t going to let her get away, no way!

Chrys remembered the way his mouth felt against hers and could taste the beer and spices from that night. Her panties became moist and she was finding it hard to breathe. Great, how was she going to get through lunch feeling like this? She took a deep breath and marched over to the table. She was about to say ‘hello’ when Kaos spoke first, cutting her off.

“Well if it isn’t Chrysalis Kelly. It’s a pleasure to meet the Queen Bitch.”

Chrys’ eyes darkened and narrowed, as anger erupted through her body. How dare he! She was ready for a verbal brawl, if he was.

Vasya blanched. “Kaos!”

Kaos smiled, but his eyes exuded an aggressive gleam. He was not going to let her run away, not this time.

Roar turned to Chrys. “He’s been sick these last few days. He’s not in his right mind. I apologize for my brother’s idiocy.”

Kaos didn’t bother looking over at Roar. “Ignore him. I believe you were going to speak to me.” He raised an eyebrow, inviting her to say something.

“Please darling, he didn’t mean it. Like Roar said, he’s sick.” Vasili interjected.

She ignored Vasya. “I’m surprised you’re even up right now. Shouldn’t you still be asleep after getting drunk and having a massive orgy with all your groupies? Or has old age caught up to you and you can’t get it up like you use to?”

Kaos threw back his head and laughed. “Is that the best you’ve got? I thought the Queen Bitch had better comebacks than that!”

Chyrs growled. He was right and she hated it. Where were her infamous acidic put-downs? She remembered watching Marissa sob over Remy and got angry. She drew on it like a protective shield. Gamesmanship hadn’t stopped Remy from hurting her cousin.

“Fine, I was trying to be nice, since you’re Vasya’s brother.”

He didn’t seem to like that statement at all, which made her very happy. She drew from her well of knowledge and came up with one sore topic that she knew would shut him up. She smiled evilly.

“So, tell me Kaos, how does it feel to have Rachel Desi tell the world about your sex life?”

Remy hadn’t been the only one who had been tattled on. Rachel Desi, Kaos’ recent ex, just sold an interview to Riffs Magazine, detailing her relationship with him. Chrys found out from her source at the magazine and decided to nail him with it.

Kaos turned red, his eyes narrowing. “That is a low blow. You are playing a very dangerous game here.”

She shrugged. “You wanted bitchy. I’ll give you bitchy. How about your shitty performance, not long after Rachel left you. She caught you in bed with…. what was it? Oh yeah, three of your groupies at once. I guess someone should have told her, you only go for the current flavor of the week. You couldn’t settle down to save your life. I guess you and Remy have more in common than I thought. Both of you can’t keep it in your pants. Why is that?”
“I mean come on man, show some self control once in awhile. By the way, do you really think you’re the second coming of B.B. King? Coz sorry to burst your bubble… you’re good, but you aren’t even in B.B’s league on his worst day! How does it feel to know that your shitty guitar playing was the most downloaded live act on MusicViewer? Getting caught isn’t an excuse for giving the fans a half assed performance you know!”

Kaos shook with rage. How dare she bring up Rachel and how dare she insult his guitar playing. The urge to say something just as damning and hurtful rode him.

“Well, aren’t we Miss Information. It must be really lonely in your world. What, mommy never loved you or perhaps daddy ignored you? You like to rip into other people…. why is that? Your vibrator must be getting one helluva workout because I’m pretty sure that attitude of yours isn’t getting you laid.” Spat Kaos.

“Why is everything about sex with you? Why don’t you shock us all and actually read a book. I hear See Spot Run is still in the library. Why don’t you check that out? You know; something easy; you’ll like the pictures, really colorful. You and Remy can get together and help each other sound out the words.”

“Wow, they must be lining up around the block. Tell me did Medusa hate it when she had to give the ugly crown to you? ‘Coz the ugly streak is really showing!" Kaos parried.

“Try again, Tarzan. Tell me exactly how you walk upright with that massive ego. I doubt your head can fit through the door. It’s too damn inflated. Do us all a favor and take a lesson from your modelling gigs; you know just stand there and look pretty. No one wants to hear what you have to say anyway.”

“You do.”

“Ha! The only thing I want to hear is you playing the guitar. That’s it. Let’s see if you can continue playing as well you did on the last album. Can you even replicate that performance or improve upon it? I doubt it.”

Kaos was about to say something, when a man came up behind Chrysalis, grabbed her arm and yanked her back. He stood up, prepared to intervene. He was pissed at her, but she didn’t deserve to be manhandled.

She whirled around. “Hey, what’s the big idea . . . Dad?”

A Taste of Kaos Chapter 10

This chapter is dedicated to Shar, Caye and Jan. Big Squishy Hugs guys.

Chapter 10

"Problem, Bruv?"

Kaos watched his brother walking toward him, covered in wet spots and looking like the proverbial cat that swallowed the canary. Any minute now, Kaos expected Roar to smile and show a bright yellow feather stuck in his teeth.

"Nope, everything's fine. Let's get something to eat at that Bar and Grill that you wanted to go to."

Kaos raised an eyebrow. "You don't want to continue wandering around here? There's a novice cover model contest you could enter? The prize is a whole bunch of books, some money and stuff. You don't want more books, do you?"

Kaos watched his brother's reaction carefully.

Roar grinned and shook his head. "Naah, let's go eat."

The drive on the way to the Irish Emerald Bar and Grill was quiet. Both men were lost in their own thoughts. Apprehension coursed through Kaos' system, as he entered the restaurant. He looked around, almost ignoring the hostess. The place looked empty except for Remy, relaxing in a booth, talking to Chrysalis. If he didn't know any better, he'd say Remy was getting along with her. He wanted to walk over there, but Roar pulled him along toward their table, which was directly across from the interview. He waited for the verbal missiles to land on Remy in abundance. Caustic remarks seem to be surprisingly absent, as she said something to Remy. He nodded; then she got up. Chrysalis gathered her things and walked over to the counter, without glancing in his direction. The person from behind the counter handed her a large brown paper bag. She responded with a smile and left. Remy slid out of the booth and walked over to their table. He slid in next to Kaos.

"How'd it go?" Kaos asked.

Remy shrugged. "I won't know until the magazine comes out. I hope she understood or at least didn't think I was lying. I laid it out for her. Everything! Now all Rissa's gotta do is read it and decide for herself. But I'm not going just give her up, without a fight!"

Kaos sighed. Remy signaled the waitress over and ordered a drink.

Chrys drove to Marissa house, trying to ignore the feelings welling up inside her. She had begun to calm down, but the memory of that kiss refused to be pushed aside. It sat in the forefront of her mind, providing a lasting sensation that began inside of her and reached each nerve ending. Now she could remember the feel of his lips on hers, the way he tasted that night, like beer and spices. The way his tongue moved around her mouth. The way his body felt against hers. For a second she had melted, allowed herself to give in, but that didn't last long.

Chrys switched on the radio to hear Susie's Suh's Light on My Shoulder. The lyrics of the song caressed her and reminded her of her thoughts during the past week. In researching Remy, she had also done some research on the band as well. She hadn't found out much about the man except he was 41 years old. He liked motorcycles, tattoos, piercings, guitars, and classic cars. He hoped one day to own an Aston Martin. Distinguishing marks included ten piercings, two large tattoos on his back, a full sleeve on his right arm, half on his left, and a tattoo around his navel. He loved horses, hated traffic, occasionally smoked. Liked Irish whiskey, hated rude people, liked a small apartment rather than a mansion or a house where he was the only occupant.

He was more of a cat person than a dog. Previous interviews made known that he wanted to someday have a house in the country and a stable filled with horses. He didn't talk about his family or if he was in a relationship! Rumors revealed a preference in dating actresses or models. He was very open about sex and was always up to discussing it. She remembered one article where the interview ended up being a discussion on porn and masturbation. He liked both.

He loved to travel. His favorite places were Russia (where he was born), the U.K. France, Spain, Italy, Egypt, South Africa, Australia, and Japan. He liked to listen to blues, jazz, classical, metal, classic rock, some rap, hip hop, R&B, pop and occasionally new age depending on the artists. His top five celebrity crushes were Halle Berry, Monica Bellucci, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera and Tina Turner. His favorite traits in women were humor, strength, intelligence and being comfortable with their sexuality. His favorite movies were An Affair to Remember (the original version), Independence Day (Will Smith is one of his favorite actors), Red Violin, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Hero, The Matrix, James Bond (Sean Connery or Pierce Brosnan preferred), The Italian Job (the original) (He hadn't seen the remake), Auntie Mame, The Philadelphia Story and Remember the Titans (Denzel was his favorite actor).

Other than the guitar, he also played the viola, violin, fiddle, piano and drums. Kaos' was very outspoken about the music industry. He felt that the Suits were just hanging on to the market share. They didn't give a damn about the music! In another interview, he voiced his opinions on the up and coming talent, stating that he admired those who aren't afraid to take risks.

He loved to play video games, although he's not that great at Halo, he's better at Lara Croft. A known ritual was that Kaos said a prayer before each performance. Other facts included that he worked out everyday to keep in shape. He didn't mind that men and women thought that he was sexy. He did mind however, when people pushed too hard to get details on his private life. To Chrys all these facts actually made her like him even more. She also found out, during his time off, he volunteered at his local library to read to the little kids at story hour. He also traveled around schools, talking about the importance of education and reading.

Chrys wasn't sure exactly, how to deal with this growing attraction to him. But for all his great traits, he was still a Rock Star. From her line of work, she had met a lot of asshole rock stars, who thought they were God's gift. On the other hand, there were some really cool guys in the industry, but more often than not, she would get stuck interviewing the former. Those numb nuts would always try to hit on her. Rumors abounded that he was supposed to be amazing in the sack. It was believed that he had been studying Tantric Sex or something.

He wasn't opposed to ménage action, although what guy wasn't. She honestly hated that attitude. She was a one on one kind of girl. If she wasn't good enough for a man in bed, then she wouldn't be there. She'd heard enough stories to know that even if she gave in to her attraction to him; she would just be one of many. Eventually, he would move on. After all, she wasn't model gorgeous, or for that matter, even that cute. Her father, if he heard her talking like this, would have smacked her in the head and asked her what was wrong with her.

Chrys sighed. She would either be a man's one and only or she would stay single. She wasn't going to be some pit stop in between a tour for him; no matter how attracted she was to him. Chyrs pulled into Marissa's driveway, parked, turned off the car and then got out. She hoped Marissa would like what Remy had to say and get some peace of mind.

A Taste of Kaos Chapter 9

This chapter is dedicated to the readers of my blog story. Thank you.

Chapter 9

Kaos stared in bewilderment, at the activity swirling around him. Booths and tables were set up everywhere. Large, bold-lettered banners announcing authors, contests or food were everywhere. He just couldn’t understand how Roar loved all this activity. If it were a concert, then he’d understand, but a Romance Festival? Uh, no, he just couldn’t wrap his head around it. He felt boxed in. He also felt like at any moment. the festival goers were going to know he wasn’t into Romance or Erotica books and turn against him.

He could just see the headlines now: “Rock Star guitarist killed at Romance Festival!” An on-looker will describe it as him being mauled by hundreds of Romance fans, all due to the fact that he said he didn’t like the genre out loud and somehow, everyone heard him. He glanced around uneasily. His brother was chatting with a woman, carrying an arm load of boxed books. Roar took one of the boxes that the woman had been struggling to carry, over to her booth and now she was able to manage with the single box.

Roar walked with the woman and Kaos trailed after them, not wanting to loose his brother in the middle of all the craziness surrounding him. He felt ridiculous being so insecure at the thought of being left behind, but that’s how he felt. They arrived at the woman’s booth. It turned out that her name was Eve Rachel and she was an author of paranormal erotica. Kaos took a guess that the figures on the banner were supposed to represent Vampires, Shifters and Immortal men.

Kaos stood a few feet away, close enough to hear the conversation, but far enough that he hoped he wouldn’t be pulled into it. He eyed the stand selling soft pretzels, with interest. His stomach was rumbling and it wasn’t even noon. He’d burned up all of his breakfast, walking around the festival grounds. He turned and called over to Roar, who was setting up the display. He told him that he was going to get a pretzel and that he’d be right back. Roar nodded. As Kaos walked away, he heard Eve ask Roar why Kaos looked so familiar.

Kaos paused to hear the answer; to his relief Roar told the woman that Kaos just had one of those faces. Secure that his identity wouldn’t be blown, he went to stand in line for a pretzel. When he got back, Roar had a bag filled with books and promo items. Kaos handed him the pretzel that he’d picked up for him and they started to walk around to the other booths.

“How are you going to be able to walk around all day with all these bags and books?”
Kaos asked.

Roar smiled. “You’ll just have to carry the stuff to the car.” He said laughing.

Kaos beamed, it would give him a break from the festival. “Okay Bruv, give it all to me and I’ll be right back.”

Roar handed him all of the things he’d accumulated and sent him on his way.

“Don’t even try to skip out on me, by staying in the car. You’re coming back; you promised me that you would hang out, Bruv. Then we’ll go to that bar and grill, you want!” Roar called after him.

Kaos grinned hopefully Chrysalis would still be there.

Roar watched his brother go off into the distance and headed for the one table he had been looking forward to all day; the book signing table of Jezebel Saunders. He grinned like an idiot, as the line moved forward quickly. From what he had heard, Jezebel was a very sweet person, always talking to fans. He couldn’t wait to meet her. Her website didn’t have a photo of her, up. He pulled out her latest release ‘Passionate Pursuit’.

Roar always checked her blog everyday for the latest on the progress of her books. He knew she was working on ‘Undercover Seduction’ the sequel to ‘Passionate Pursuit’. The line moved swiftly and the sky started to turn to purple, orange and pink. Roar breathed in the cooling air and smiled. He always loved autumn time. The Fall was when he was born, October 31, 1971. Halloween Baby!

He always loved that he was born on Halloween. Not only did he get boat loads of candy, when they were allowed to trick or treat, but he got cake and ice cream. Soon he would celebrate his birthday. Roar hoped he would be celebrating it in his birthplace, Russia. Or overseas would be nice. He and Trace had some vacation time coming up; perhaps it was time for Trace to mend fences with their younger sister Ti-Belle.

It was finally his time at the front of the line. He looked up and stopped, his grin faltering. Good Lord! Jezebel Saunders was gorgeous! Her hair was curly, but it had bright red stripes going through it. The rest of her hair was a mixture of dark and light brown. She had blue-gray eyes, full lips, the bottom one being fuller than the top. She had a button nose. Everything about her was perfect. Roar was almost afraid to speak. She was too pretty, but he had to say something! His mouth wouldn’t move. His brain had just stalled.

Jezebel looked up and almost choked on her water. The most gorgeous man she had ever seen was standing right in front of her, looking down at her. He had to be taller than 6ft. He had silver eyes, not grey but silver fringed with dark lashes. He was wearing a tank top that showed off muscular arms, both of which were covered in tattoos. He was wearing baggy jeans and work boots. He looked well put together, muscular, but lean. His hair was shoulder length; he brushed back some hair behind his ear, showing off a silver hoop.

He smiled shyly at her. Jezebel knew that she had just creamed her panties. He had a great smile, even white teeth showed between a sensuous mouth. He stepped closer to the table and put down his book. He shifted from side to side and blushed.
“Ahem, hi. Um . . . I’m a big fan. Would you please sign this?”

Gorgeous Man asked shyly and blushed. Jezebel swallowed and suddenly she couldn’t breathe! Air! She was choking on her water. She spluttered instantly. Her sister Deena gave her a hard slap on the back and water sprayed from her mouth, hitting Gorgeous Man. Jezebel’s vision blurred from all the coughing. Once the coughing fit passed, she saw a large water spot on his tank top. Water covered his neck and arms as well. Jezebel wanted the ground to swallow her whole, right then and there. She watched him wipe the spray out of his eyes. Yes, she wanted the earth to swallow her and not leave any trace!

“What is wrong with you?” Deena hissed as she smiled at the man. She handed him a napkin that was under Jezebel’s cup of water, to clean himself off.

“It’s okay, it happens.” He said.

Jezebel felt herself getting warmer than she already was. He had an accent, faint, but it was there.

“You’re Russian?” She asked, knowing she sounded stupid.

He smiled at her and her heart skipped a beat. “Yes, well my family lived in Russia. I’m Roma. And you’re British.” He said grinning.

“How could you tell!?!” Her eyes widened. She heard Deena groan. But Gorgeous Man just smiled.

“You’re accent. Um, I’m sorry to rush you, but could you sign the book.”

They both looked down. His book was covered in water. “Oh no! I’m sooo sorry. Deena could you bring me a copy of ‘Passionate Pursuit’, please.”

Deena turned away, muttering about her sister’s clumsiness. She brought out a new book, and handed it to her. “Who should I make this out to?”

“Make it out to Roar Morgan.”

“Roar…. what an unusual name.” She grinned, liking the way the name rolled off her tongue.

Roar tried to hide his grin. The way she said his name, with that husky voice of hers, sounded sexy. She finished signing the book and handed it to him. He picked up both his wet copy and took the signed book.

“Thank you.”

She opened her mouth to protest, as she saw no need for this dream man to take the soaked book with him, but he stopped her.

“I still want this copy. Call me sentimental.” He grinned.

Roar thanked her again, turned and walked away. Jezebel slumped back weakly in her chair, trying to get herself under control. She couldn’t watch him walk away. She had other fans to deal with, but oh boy, she really wanted to see if he had a great butt.

A Taste of Kaos Chapter 8

This chapter is dedicated to Caye, thanks for all the blog help. And for Jan, an awesome editor.

Chapter 8

Chrysalis looked over Remy’s bio. None of the information on the page was anything that she hadn’t seen before. She flipped through the previous interview held by the magazine. She already knew what she wanted to ask, but she wanted to push and probe a bit further. Chrys’ aim was to confront Remy and show him how his past actions were the catalyst for behaviour that hurt and alienated Marissa. She picked up Remy’s profile again.

Remy Bane: Real Name: Remington Montgomery Edwards
Age: 26 now 35 years old
Occupation: Lead Singer of the Blues Rock Band Flintlock.
Background: Grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana, USA.
Father: Carpenter
Mother: Kindergarten teacher
Siblings: Sister, Megan 25 now 34 years old. Brother, Taylor 27 now 37 years old.
Significant other: Girlfriend, unnamed.

Notes:

Estranged from his family. Father refuses to acknowledge Remy is even his son.

Cause of rift: Dispute because Remy wanted to be a musician instead of going into the family carpentry business, like his sister and brother. Stays in touch with his mother, but rarely has contact.

Discovered Blues and Jazz at the age of 5, when he accompanied his father to New Orleans. At the age of 10 started hanging out in Mr. Leon’s Vinyl Record shop, after school. Got part time job in Vinyl shop at 14. Graduated high school and left Shreveport to visit relatives in England. In high school he met Dane Masters, future drummer for Flintlock and Spike, (last name not given), bass player and sometimes keyboard/piano player. Met Kaos, (no last name given) guitar player, in the Rainbow Room Club in the West End of London. Bandmates Dane and Spike joined him and the group did a tour of Europe, before doing college tours to promote music. During a tour they got signed, produced their first album, ‘Never Felt The Same Again’. Their first single ‘Looker’, made its way up the charts and even had some crossover success.

Second album ‘Again the Rain’ had even more success with singles ‘She’, ‘Raining on Me’, ‘Love Letters’ and ‘Phone Call’ enjoyed top of the charts and mainstream success. Third Album ‘Stay the Night’ enjoyed equal success as the second. The fourth album exploded onto the scene surrounded by rumour and gossip. Scandal broke out during the tour when it was revealed that the inspiration for the lyrics to such songs as ‘Don’t Leave Me’ and ‘Begging You’ came from girlfriend Marissa Lewis, now 25 years old. Remy met her when she was a sophomore in college. Scandal surfaced when his girlfriend caught Remy Bane with lead singer of the Flaming Banshees, Deidre Maxwell in a compromising position. Things were made worse when Deidre gave a tell-all interview, giving out details of her sexual exploits with Remy Bane and giving copious details of in-fighting in the band Flintlock. Flintlock is currently on tour to support the fourth album ‘Torn Apart Again’.

“You need to eat something.” Chase Kelly said, as he poured his daughter a second glass of her favorite Strawberries and Cream milkshake.

“Not yet. I’ll eat after the interview is over, but for now I have to concentrate.”

Chase shook his head. “You didn’t eat breakfast, now, what will ya have?”

“How do you know that?” Chrys enquired.

“I just know, now order.”

He gave her a stern look and Chyrs broke down. “Okay, I’ll have chicken fingers with the curly fries and another milkshake. ‘Cause you know I’ll be done with this one by the time the food’s here.”

Chase grinned and wrote it all down. “That’s my girl.”

He turned to leave to place the order but was stopped when she called out to him, loud enough for everyone to hear. “Hey dad! How did the date go? You never called me to tell me about it.”

Chase blushed bright red and looked around, before dashing back to his daughter.
“Not so loud okay? I’ll tell you later.”

Chrys wouldn’t be deterred. “Come on dad, just a little something. Kaitlyn’s hot!”

Chase grinned. “Yes she is err, hot and I’ll tell you later.”

Chase turned to leave when he heard her say, “You better have gotten laid, Dad. I told you, sex on the first date is not a bad thing!”

Chase turned bright red and ignored the chuckles coming from some of the patrons in the nearby tables. Chrys grinned. She didn’t want to embarrass her father, but this was payback for all the times he had embarrassed her about her personal life. She would never forget when she told him she had been asked out on a date, at the age of 15. Her father had given everyone drinks on the house and told them all that his little girl had her first boyfriend. Now this was payback time.

A Taste of Kaos Chapter 7

This chapter is dedicated to Paz. :-) Thanks for being a great friend.

Chapter 7

One Week Later . . .

Kaos wandered around the woods. He knew he was looking for something, but what? He felt as though he was being watched, and turned around. There she was, standing there, in a see- through dress that fell to her knees. It had a slit up the side, all the way to the hip. She turned and ran from him. Kaos gave chase. He wouldn't let her slip through his fingers yet again. Chrysalis Kelly would be his!

Kaos followed her through the undergrowth; tree limbs smacked him in the face, while bushes scratched his knees. He looked down and gasped. He was naked except for his guitar. He heard laughter; not thinking about why he was naked. He followed the sound until he found himself at a water fall. There she was! Her back to him. She was completely naked. Kaos moved one step forward.

Whirling around, with anger and surprise showing on her face, Chrys yelled. "How dare you! You pervert!” She turned and dove into the water.

Kaos pursued her screaming, "I'm not a pervert! I swear I just want to kiss you! Chrysalis, Chrysalis come back!”

He looked into the water, which had once been clear. It was now frosted. He reached down to touch it, but pain shot through him. He looked towards the ground; a snapping turtle was trying to bite his foot.

Suddenly, woodland creatures started flying from the trees straight at him, all shouting "Pervert! Pervert!"

Kaos tried to fend them off, but couldn't. He screamed, “I'm not a pervert! I'm not a pervert!" The animals continued with their onslaught. There was a strange buzzing sound and then he felt instant pain.

Kaos woke up on the floor, with a start. The sheets were tangled around his naked body; covered in sweat. His hair stuck to his face and he was breathing hard.

"Morning Pervert!” Roar said, bounding cheerfully into Kaos' room. Roar sat down on his brother's bed grinning.

"Shut up." Kaos muttered.

"You look horrible! What, not sleeping well? Dreaming that you're a pervert again?" Roar continued dismissively.

Kaos groaned and tried to disentangle himself from his sheets. When he finally freed himself, he stood up.

"Whoa, whoa, pervert, I may be family, but put some clothes on!" Roar said laughing, shielding his eyes from Kaos' nudity.

Kaos ignored him and headed for the shower. Today was the day that Remy had his interview with Chrysalis and Kaos wanted to be there.

As Roar was staying with him, he had to entertain his baby brother. Kaos adjusted the hot and cold taps until they were just right; then stepped into the stall. If only he could manoeuvre it so that they could end up at the Irish Emerald Bar and Grill, where the interview was being held. He had to make it look like an accident; pure coincidence. Unfortunately, Roar had insisted on going to the Romance Festival held in town. Roar's favorite erotica author, Jezebel Saunders was having a book signing.

Kaos groaned, he didn't want to hang out at a Romance Festival. He wanted to see Chrysalis again. He hadn't been able to stop thinking about her since that kiss they had shared over a week ago. He finished soaping his body, rinsing himself off and began shampooing his hair. Somehow, he had to end up at the Bar and Grill.

"Hey Bro, phone call.” Roar walked straight into the bathroom and opened one of the sliding doors. His eyes were closed as he handed the phone to Kaos.

"Give me that Dimwit! Go make breakfast or something! Be useful!” Kaos declared as he grabbed the telephone.

Roar saluted him, "As you wish your Excellency.” Roar left the bathroom, slamming the door behind him.

Kaos rolled his eyes and said, "Hello?"

"Good Morning, was that Roar I spoke too?" Vasili asked.

Vasili was the half brother of Kaos, Trace, Roar and Tigress Bella. The half brother that only Kaos knew about.

"Yup, that was the knucklehead” replied Kaos, with exasperation. “Are you here? You missed the concert."

Vasili chuckled. "Sorry, I had to take care of something.”

The response suggested to Kaos that Vasili’s business involved a lady.

"I will be in town for a week and then head back to England. Grandmother is arriving soon. She has decided that England should be the proper place for a meeting with her grandchildren, if they wished to meet her?"

Kaos mulled this over; he honestly wanted to see his grandmother. He missed her.

"She is changing the plans. Why? You still haven't told me how you know that Ti-Bell was mulling over her decision to see Babushka?”

There was a pause. Vasili voice contained an edge that was previously lacking. "She has her reason for changing the plans! As for Ti-Bell, a friend of mine has a sister who goes to college with her. They are friends and she confided in my friend's sister about the letter."

"Oh…..! Roar is here, so how do we play this? He'll be here for another week.” There was another pause.

"Test the Waters! See how he will react to having another brother. I think that is all we can do for now."

Kaos heard a woman's voice in the background as Vasya continued. "I must go. My cousin Mira has informed me that my taxi is here. I will see you in a day or so." Vasya hung up before he could ask him about his flight and arrival plans.

Kaos finished showering and stepped out of the stall. He began to dry himself off and pondered the possible reactions of his siblings. Trace may not be as receptive to the news of having a new brother, but perhaps Roar would be. In Kaos’ opinion, Roar would like Vasili; he was fun and all in all a good person. If they got along, then maybe by the end of Vasya's trip, Kaos would tell him. Telling his brother Trace would the hardest thing. Trace still had a lot of resentment and would probably hate their father even more. Once Vasya’s existence was revealed and Trace was told the real reason why they were exiled from the rest of their clan; it would probably result in a permanent rift between father and son.

Kaos dried off his hair and wrapped a towel around his waist. Picking up the phone, he wandered into the kitchen to find Roar eating some toast and watching the news. Kaos shook his head and placed the phone in its cradle. Roar's attention was so engrossed in the report that he was destroying the scrambled eggs he was cooking.

"Roar I'll take over. You watch the news okay?”

Roar looked up and then looked down at the pan sheepishly. "Ooops, sorry."

Kaos started up a new batch of scrambled eggs and cooked some bacon. "A friend of mine will be spending some time with us; he should be arriving tomorrow or the day after. He's from England; I think you'll like him."

Roar finished up his toast and asked, "What's he like?"

Kaos thought over what to tell his brother.

"He's fun, outgoing, lots of laughs."

Roar liked what he heard.

"Sounds like a good guy."

Kaos smiled.

"Yes he is. So no stupid pranks. Okay?"

Kaos felt something hit his bare arm and he looked down to see it was a napkin.

"Are you ashamed of me big brother?"

Kaos leaned down, picked up the napkin and threw it back at his brother.

"Yes, very ashamed."

Roar laughed, "Just for that, when we get to the festival I'm not going to help you out when the girls mob you."

Kaos shook his head. "I won't need help. I can handle all the women."

Yeah, except for Chrysalis Kelly. He thought.

A Taste of Kaos Chapter 6

This chapter is dedicated to my HB squad, you know how we roll. LMAO!

Chapter 6

Remy was too damn close to her. Just being a few feet away, was enough for him to get aroused. He wanted to see her; dammit! If Kaos didn’t get here soon, he would march up to her door and ring the bell. Who knows what would happen if she answered. He may get arrested, but it would be worth it to see Rissa. He felt like a stalker.

“Great! I’ve resorted to stalking.” Remy mumbled to himself.

To keep occupied, he turned on the radio. His heart ached, as he listened to Leela James singing No Doubt’s version of “Don’t Speak”. Leela’s voice was so soulful. He loved ‘good’ soul music. The song amplified his feelings of sadness, forming tears that didn’t fall. The lyrics were a reminder of how much he hurt Marissa.

There was a tapping on his window. Blurry-eyed, he looked up to see Chrysalis’ face starring at him. He rolled it down.

“Ever heard of the term ‘Stalker’?” She asked.

Chrysalis had left the bar and headed over to Marissa’s to give her the news, instead of waiting until later that day. She spotted Remy in his car and rolled her eyes, deciding to send him on his way now, rather than have him freak out Rissa.

Remy sighed. “Yeah, I was thinking about that, before you tapped on my window.”

Chrys crouched down. “Well you’re turning into one. How long have you been out here?”

Remy shrugged.

Chrys sighed, “Look, just leave now before I call the police! Bad enough that you call her every day, now you’ve resorted to hanging around the front of her house. Go back to the hotel! Just leave, okay?”

Chrys was too tired to deal with Remy’s obsession. Just then, a car passed her and parked in front of Remy’s.

“Great! What next? Is Harpo, coming out to perform too?”

She sighed and stood up. Kaos stepped out of his car. Chrys felt like slapping herself in the forehead. She should have known that Remy would call Kaos.

“We meet again, Chrysalis Kelly.” He said, approaching the car with his confident swagger.

Chrys rolled her eyes, she knew he would find out her name, but did he have to look soo confident!! The look he gave her seemed to be one of pure arrogance.

“Well, score one for you! How long did it take you to learn my name?”

Kaos shrugged, “The minute I got back inside, I asked around and found out!”

“Well good for you, now get your friend outta here, before I call the police.” Chrys ordered.

She began to walk away, when she felt herself suddenly being jerked back.

“We need to work on that attitude of yours.” countered Kaos.

Chrys whirled around. “Excuse me? I like my attitude, just fine. It’s yours, that’s irritating. Who the fuck do you think you are; Let go of me!”

Kaos smiled, which irked her more. “My attitude is just fine thanks! But I’m not letting go of your arm until you agree to play nice with Remy and me. Giving us lip isn’t going to get you what you want.”

Chrysalis tried to jerk her arm free, but to no avail. She glared at him, while Kaos laughed. He was laughing!

Chrys raised her hand, formed a fist, pulled back and let loose, but he caught it. She stumbled forward. He took hold of the other arm and pulled her against him.

“Very naughty missy, I’m going to have to take you over my knee and teach you some manners.” He purred, lowering his face to hers.

Her eyes widened and then narrowed. “You wouldn’t! If you do, I’ll scream and let’s see how you like being someone’s bitch in prison.”

Kaos didn’t lack nerve. He threw back his head and laughed harder. Regaining his control, he looked at her “It would be worth it! Besides, how do you know I won’t like being someone’s bitch?”

Chrys’ eyes couldn’t get any wider. Was Kaos . . . ? But there were . . . ! Interviews . . . ? Her mind went into a brief meltdown. Kaos smirked. He wasn’t gay, but he was comfortable enough in his own sexuality to be able to admire beauty from both sexes. He loved women, all shapes, sizes and backgrounds, but he loved to mess with people; get them out of their comfort zone and make them think. In this case, he wanted to shock her enough, for her to shut up.

“I’m not gay.” He closed the distance between their lips and kissed her.

Her mouth opened due to shock, allowing his tongue to slip in. She tasted like Chocolate and Irish Crème. His tongue caressed the sides of her cheeks, over her teeth, tickling the roof of her mouth and sliding across her tongue. She tasted delicious. He couldn’t help but wonder what the rest of her tasted like. Would her cream be just as addictive as her mouth was? He felt her soften against him and adjusted himself so that one hand was holding both wrists; she didn’t seem to notice that for a brief second, her arm was free.

He slipped his hand into her hair, taking a handful and pulled it, tilting her head back for a better angle. Her lips were soft against his. He nipped and sucked at her full bottom lip. She moaned as he transferred his attention to the upper one. He wanted her mouth to look swollen and well kissed. Kaos ground his hips against hers. He felt Chrys stiffen; his erection pressed against her abdomen.

Chrys yanked her head back and growled. “How dare you!” She hissed. Her voice was low and filled with venom.

If looks could kill he’d be dead, but it would be worth it!

“Let go of me.”

He reluctantly released her. She took a giant step back, but no matter the distance. she wouldn’t be able to erase what just happened between them. “I’m giving you five minutes to get him and yourself out of here, before I call the police.”

She turned and walked toward the house. He watched her hand come up and wipe her lips, but he knew she wouldn’t forget that kiss.

Kaos turned to Remy. “Time to go, Cowboy!”

Remy nodded and sighed. He relented knowing, once Chrys got into the house she’d tell Rissa; then there would be trouble. Kaos acknowledged that Chrys would be extremely angry with him; he didn’t want to incur more of her wrath by stubbornly staying. He walked back to his car, got in, started it and left with Remy following him. Chrys watched them go, still feeling the effects of the kiss. Her legs felt weak, as her body overheated. Once they were out of sight, she turned and rang the bell, knowing that Rissa was up. She would keep what just happened to herself, for now.

A Taste of Kaos Chapter 5

This chapter is dedicatd to my editor Jan. Thanks for all the help. Big Hugs.

Chapter 5

Kaos tried to keep up with the party going on around him, but couldn’t get his mind off the woman from the parking lot. He had found out that her name was Chrysalis Kelly. She was the cousin of Marissa and worked for Rising Sun Magazine. The only blemish that he could find was her working for that ‘Rag!’ Other than that, she was perfect. He thought of her attitude toward him and smiled. She was like no one he had ever met. She didn’t give in to him, even when he tried to pour on the charm or overwhelm her with his presence. He liked that.

Looking around, Kaos could see Remy was no where to be found. They all assumed that he had left the arena to think about whether or not to do the interview. Remy really wanted to talk to Marissa, but would the interview get through to her? Would she be more open to hear his apologies, if he spilled his soul to her cousin, in a magazine? Kaos turned and walked out of the room and dug his cell phone out of his pocket. He hit speed dial. Remy answered immediately.

"Hello?"

"It’s Kaos, where are you man? You okay?"

"I’m fine. Look, can you drive down to Marissa’s house; I need to talk to you."

"Shit! Remy what the hell are you doing at her house? I’m coming to get you."

Kaos hung up and grabbed his jacket, he didn’t bother making excuses. He left. He drove pushing the speed limit. He tried not to panic and hit the gas to get to Remy. What the hell was he thinking? Kaos could only wonder.

Marissa’s House

Marissa was curled up on the couch unaware that Remy sat outside her house. She sighed and tried to remember why she was watching Remains of the Day. Ever since she saw the flyer announcing that Flintlock was playing for three days in town, she had been feeling miserable and nervous. It was bad enough when he was on tour; Remy called every day, just like he use too. When he was in town, he called at least five times a day.

She didn’t have the heart to change her number or block his calls. Sometimes he would just wish her to have a great day, other times he would call and let her know how he was doing. She would curl up in bed and listen to his messages over and over again, loving the sexy Southern accent and gravelly voice. She missed him. If she had a bad day she could always come home, turn on her machine; hear his voice and listen to him tell her about things in the music business. Most of what he said, she didn’t understand, or didn’t care about, as long as she could hear his voice.
It was an addiction; well more than addiction. She didn’t know what to call it. She loved him but was still hurting. She was trying to get over him with Ben Tyron. Ben was sweet, but he wasn’t Remy. Marissa sighed; it was a mistake to continue to go out with Ben when she was so conflicted. Why had she allowed herself to go out with him? She knew why, she wanted to prove that she was over Remy.

Marissa reflected back to the day it all started with Ben. Ben had come over to hang out with her.

He was in town to spend time with his family before Training Camp started. He asked if he could hang out with her and watch movies. She thought that it would do no harm. Chrysalis was out of town on assignment. Callisto and Aura were busy with family problems or job issues. So she agreed. After drinking a lot of beer and eating a lot of pizza, Ben dared her to kiss him. At the last moment he turned his head and their lips met.

She had been caught off guard and Ben took it for consent. The next thing she knew she was making out with him on the couch. He put a stop to it and revealed that he had always liked her. He hadn’t made a move, because she was dating Remy. At the mention of Remy’s name, she suddenly felt guilty. When Ben asked her out, she pushed her guilt aside and decided to try and move on. She agreed.

Callisto and Aura thought it was a good idea. Even though Chrys had reservations, she told her to go for it. Marissa liked spending time with Ben. There had been times when they had been close to making love but she just couldn’t bring herself to take that final step. She wished that she could get over Remy. It should be simple, but he was the standard by which she measured all men.

Marissa prayed that he would go through with the interview. She would read it. Mayhap she could draw a modicum of peace from his words. After hearing his side of the story, she would get an explanation and it would fuel her decision to move on. Yet, at the back of her mind she doubted she would ever be over Remy Bane.

She remembered how she met him.

Before Flintlock had become the big band they were now, they did pub and college gigs to get their music heard. Flintlock was playing one night and the girls had dragged her out with them so she could take a break from studying. Seeing Remy on stage was one thing; when their eyes locked, the world melted down to just them. It felt like he was literally singing to her; he would later tell her he was. On their first date he took her to a poetry reading, not telling her that it was an erotic poetry night.

By the time she put two and two together and realized what was going on, she couldn’t leave. She was too aroused and didn’t think her vibrator would do the job. What she really wanted was Remy, but doubted he wanted her too. She was so wrong. They sat in a corner booth, which allowed them some privacy. Remy pulled her toward him and kissed her.

The kiss was electric. The next thing she knew, they were making out. She was not a big fan of public displays of affection, but she couldn’t stop if she tried. She wanted the feeling of her lips on his; his tongue in her mouth. His hands moved over her body. Before she knew it, he ducked under the table.

Marissa had borrowed one of Chrys’ short skirts. She was dressed to impress. The minute he positioned himself under the table, she felt very self conscious. He began kissing her from her ankle to the top of her thigh, pushing her skirt up as far as it would go. Remy ignored the place where she needed his mouth the most. He kissed a trail in exactly the same fashion on her other leg. Finally, he decided to show her some attention.

Pulling her panties down, Marissa was too lost in what Remy was doing to care that they were in public or that anyone could come by and see her. He spread her legs and buried his head between her thighs. The second his tongue touched her clit she was gone. She held onto the table for dear life and bit her lip to keep from crying out. Remy ate her out like a starving man at a buffet. When he used his tongue to fuck her, she lost it. His thumb massaged her clit and his tongue drove in and out of her cunt. At the moment of bliss, she came so hard, she almost blacked out.

He licked up all her cream and pulled down her skirt as best he could. Remy slid back and surveyed his handy work. Once satisfied that Marissa had come, he snuck off to the bathroom. It was awhile before he returned. He didn’t tell her why he took so long but he did tell her that next time he went down on her, he wanted her to scream. He leaned forward and kissed her, licking the blood from her lips from where she had bit down so hard.

He sucked her bottom lip and they resumed their make out session. She could taste herself on his lips and tongue which aroused her still further. Remy slowed down the pace and pulled back.

"Not again, hon, I couldn’t take it."

Marissa didn’t know what that meant, but they soon left the poetry reading. Since she was unaware that anyone was staring at them oddly or giving them knowing looks; Marissa assumed that no one noticed their display.

Marissa came back to the present and squirmed, she didn’t need this right now. She needed a clear head. Remembering the past and all the good times could cause her to forgive Remy. She wasn’t ready for that yet.

A Taste of Kaos Chapter 4

This one is for all my friends who put up with me. Big Hugs guys.

Chapter 4

Chrysalis pushed open the doors of the Irish Emerald Bar and Grill and headed straight for the counter. A large tea pot, teacup and saucer were the only things sitting on the dark wood. Her father Chase Kelly stood behind the bar cleaning glasses.

"Hey Dad!" She called out.

Her father turned and smiled at her. "Hey, little Irish. Get your butt over here and give your ol’ man a hug."

Chrysalis made her way over and around the bar, grinning. She jumped into her dad’s arms and said, "Butterflies don’t hug like this." She laughed as she gave him a bear hug.

He laughed then growled. "Yes, but bears do."

She buried her face in his neck and inhaled the familiar comforting scent of her father’s aftershave and sweat. When she was little and he had to work late, he would always come home; go straight to her room and give her hug. His scent made her feel safe and loved. A month after she was born, her mother took off and left her with her father. After realizing he was in over his head with a new born, trying to keep his job at an accounting firm during the day, as well as college and bartending at night, Chase Kelly called his mother to come help him out.

Up until the age of five, it was her grandmother, Grammy Kelly, who took care of her until her father could save up enough money and get a loan to start the Irish Emerald Bar and Grill. During her childhood she would go between the U.S. and Ireland, where her grandmother, grandfather and most of her relatives lived. She loved Ireland. She always thought of it as her home and the U.S. as her home away from home. In Ireland she felt welcome; in the U.S. she was reminded of the mother that abandoned her. Occasionally, when she remembered, her mother sent her a birthday card with a dollar bill in it.

Pulling back, she smiled at what she felt was the only parent she had. Her mother was just an incubator, who contributed an egg and carried her. Her father was the one who raised, loved and nurtured her. Looking into her Dad’s blue-green eyes, so like her own, she felt a sense of joy that she hardly experienced anymore. It was rare for the Ice Queen of Rising Sun Magazine to smile. It was rarer to hear her laugh joyfully. Her column ‘The Bitch is back!’ was really popular. People always loved to check it out to see who she was ripping into and who she chose to praise, which was an exceptionally rare event.

Chrys relaxed and pulled out of her father’s embrace. She headed around the bar, pulled up a stool and sat down, pouring herself a cup of Irish Crème Hot Cocoa. She savored the sweetness.
After she drank her first cup she looked up at her father and asked, "So what did she say this time?"

Her father didn’t pretend not to know what she was talking about. "She just wants to see you."
Chrys resisted the urge to roll her eyes; her mother always said she wanted to see her. Often, when Chrys went to meet her at the appointed destination, her mother didn’t bother to show up, citing an emergency. If she did actually make it to their meeting, she wouldn’t be alone, bringing her new boyfriend of the week along. Whenever she brought a boyfriend, it was like Chrys didn’t exist, barring introductions.

It pained her to see her mom like that. When she was younger, she imagined her mother as this wonderful person. Instead, her first meeting with her, slapped her back into reality. One disappointment after another was all she got from dear mother. If Chrys ever had children, the only grandparent they would need was their grandfather. It hurt her to see her father always being so nice to her mother and getting trampled on for his efforts. She had always felt that her father was still in love with her. When she was ten years old, she was introduced to her mother. Mom’s first words to her were, "You were a mistake, you know that. The condom broke and well, here you are."

Chrys remembered gripping her father’s hand tightly and trying not to cry. After that statement her mother wanted a hug. A hug! Like she hadn’t just said one of the most horrible things you could say to a child. Her father had tried to get Chrys to be nice and friendly to her mother. He always said, "You don’t want to grow up and realize you didn’t at least try, do you?"
In the beginning she made an effort for her dad, but after a few visits, Chrys dropped all pretenses and told her mother exactly what she thought of her, even going so far as calling her mother a heartless slut. That got her a slap in the face, but her mother didn’t try and contact her again, until now. Until after Chrysalis had been linked with football player Douglas Stormer.

"I’m not going, not this time." She held up her hand to stop her father’s next statement.

"Neela has proven that she doesn’t love me, nor does she actually want to see him. She just wants to seem like the maternal type, for whatever reason. I’m not gonna indulge her. I’m sorry daddy, I tried, but it’s for the best." Her father sighed and she knew he was disappointed, but he would have to deal with it. She poured herself another cup of cocoa and watched as a gorgeous woman approached the bar. She definitely looked like a model, all legs and large eyes.

The woman smiled shyly at her dad and Chrys had to hold back a grin. Even at 45 her father was still very handsome. He had reddish blond hair, cut short and styled in the, "I just got out of bed look" and engaging blue-green eyes that sparkled with mischief. She watched him move over to the woman, who couldn’t have been more than 25. He asked her what she’d like.

Chrysalis noticed the look that the woman gave her dad; she definitely wanted him.

Chrys held back a giggle. "I was wondering if the grill is still open. I just got into town and I’m starving."

Her father smiled. "Of course, what will you have?" The woman also placed her order, turned around and walked back to her table, putting a little extra something into her walk. Chrys looked at her father amused to see him watching the woman’s extra somethin’. He turned and gave the orders to his chef. He then came over to his daughter.

"You need to get laid Dad."

She ducked when he tried to take a swat at her head. "What!! She’s hot and wants you!" Her father seemed to dismiss her statement.

Annoyed Chrysalis slid off the stool. "Where are you going?" He asked,

Chrys smiled mischievously. "Bathroom".

She headed in the direction of the restroom, by way of the woman’s table. Papers were strewn all over the place. She looked busy. Chrys stopped by the table. "Excuse me, could I talk to you for a moment?" The woman looked up at her curiously. "It’s about the bartender."

Leaving her with that, Chrysalis walked to the bathroom, before she entered she gave her father a wink and pushed the door open.

Chrys began to wash her hands, but turned when she saw the door pushed open and the model woman walk in.

She grinned. "Are you his girlfriend or something? I saw the wink you gave him."
Chrys wasn’t shocked by her question. No one who met them thought that Chrys was really his daughter, even with the blue green eyes; they all thought that she was wearing contacts. She shook her head, "I’m his daughter."

The woman looked skeptical.

"Believe what you will, but I am his daughter. Look. My dad doesn’t really date…. At least, I’ve never seen him date. I want him to be happy and he’s certainly attracted to you. But he probably thinks he’s too old or something. How old are you?"

The woman at first didn’t seem to want to answer, but then said, "I’m 28."

Chrys thought for a moment. "He’s 45; hmm that makes . . . a 17 year difference. That seems okay."

The woman held up her hand. "He’s 45!?! He looks like he’s 30."

Chrysalis became defensive. "You got a problem with my dad being 45?"

The woman quickly shook her head. "No, no, I’m just surprised that’s all."

Chyrs let it go. "Yeah, he looks young for his age. He had me when he was 20, well my mom had me and he was 20."

The woman looked her over. "You’re really his daughter?"

She nodded. "What’s your name and what do you do?"

The woman smiled. "Kaitlyn and I work for a modelling agency in New York."

Chrys’ smile fell. Crap, if they did hit it off, it would be a long distance relationship, but if they did hit it off that would be great.

"What’s wrong?" Chrys waved it off.

"Nothing."

"He’s not married or has a horrible ex, does he?"

Chrysalis looked at the woman as if she’d gone insane. "Sorry, not enough neurons firing in the brain there. I doubt you’d try and set me up if he was married, but the ex thing?"
Chrys gave her a sad smile. "No actual ex. My mom wants nothin’ to do with him."
Kaitlyn seemed to sense that talking about her mother was a sore subject.

"So how do I win him over?" She said conspiratorially.

"Let me take care of it, by the end of the night, he’ll be asking for your number." Chrysalis grinned, dried her hands and walked out of the bathroom.

A Taste of Kaos Chapter 3

Dedicated to all the readers of this story. Thanks again Jan. Hugs.

Chapter 3

Kaos leaned on the doorway, studying the woman in front of him. She looked like Marissa, especially in the back. He could understand why for a second Remy would mistake her for his former girlfriend. But unlike Rissa, she had long hair that fell down to her shoulder blades. Her bangs brushed the tops of her eyebrows; she had red highlights, which Kaos believed weren’t natural. Her blue-green eyes studied him. The differences, other than her hair, that set her apart from Marissa, were her eyes and her walk; it was filled with purpose, a woman on a mission.

There was something about her that made him pause. She didn’t look at him adoringly like a groupie or an admirer. She glared at him with wariness and annoyance. How had he annoyed her? Kaos took in her outfit, skinny jeans, black boots; he assumed a black suede corset with ribbons that crisscrossed the front and a jean jacket. Her nails were painted black and a dark red wine color. He looked back up at her face. She wore dark wine-colored lipstick and her eyes were lined with black. Her skin was paler than Marissa’s but only slightly.

She was cute, but he doubted she would take that as a compliment.

Kaos stuck out his hand, “Kaos, it’s nice to meet you. I didn’t get your name.”

She didn’t take his hand instead she turned to Remy and said, “Call me.”

She then turned and brushed past him and out the door. Instead of confronting Remy about doing an interview without the band, he rushed after her. Her heels clicked sharply against the floor. Her steps were quick, as if she was in a rush to get out of the building. Her cell phone rang and she rummaged as she walked in her bag.

Finding it, she answered. “Hello? Oh, hey daddy.” She smiled. “Yeah, I’m on my way there now. I could really use a pick me up.”

“…… No, it went well, I think he’ll call me. Marissa should be happy about that.”
“Breakfast? Sure, what are you making?” She started to laugh.

Kaos thought she had a great laugh. “Um, if you want the building to burn down sure, why don’t you make French Toast?”

Kaos could tell she had a great relationship with her father. A hint of jealousy stirred within him. His own relationship with his father was always on thin ice.

“Yes, you can bring over some French toast sticks and I promise to wear my footie pajamas and act like I’m 5.”She laughed again.

Kaos found that comment odd, but all was revealed soon afterward.

“You just don’t like the fact that I’m too old to dance on your feet anymore and ask you for ice cream money. I’m too old to be grounded ya know.” She laughed again.

Her father was teasing her about her being all grown up, from what Kaos could hear.

“Daddy, come on, I don’t want to see her. I really don’t. I don’t care if she is my Mother. She wants to see me now, huh! Where was she, was I had to go the dentist or doctor or when I first got my period? …..Okay, yeah too much information. Sorry.” She laughed again.

“Okay, I’ll think about it, I promise. Look I see my car. I’ve gotta go now. Bear kisses and butterfly hugs. See you soon.”

He watched her hang up and walk to her car. She didn’t seem to notice that he had followed her to the parking lot.

That is until she got to her car and turned around; green ice in her eyes. “Why the fuck are you following me?”

Kaos snapped out of his reverie. Her eyes were now more green than blue. He thought for a moment, trying to decide how to respond to her question.

Finally he said, “I wanted to ask you why you want to interview Remy and not the entire band.” She flipped her hair over her shoulder and said, “Marissa asked for just Remy, not the band.”

Kaos raised an eyebrow, “Marissa?”

Chrys went into a brief explanation of Marissa’s request. “So, you’re her cousin who is doing her a favor. What do you get out of the deal?” Kaos asked.

He had heard the venom in her voice; he couldn’t believe that she didn’t get something out of this arrangement.

“I get the explanation that my cousin has wanted to hear for the past two years. I get to prove to her that Remy Bane wasn’t worth all the tears she cried over him, plain and simple.”

Kaos took a step forward into her personal space. She didn’t back down from him. Not one bit. Reminding him of his brother’s girlfriend Calla, she glared up at him.

He guessed she was about 5'3 without the heels, with the heels she was about 5'6. Looking into her eyes, he wanted to see that look of anger and defiance turn into passion and desire. He had the biggest urge to kiss her.

As if reading his mind she growled, “Don’t even think about it, or you will be able to join the Vienna Boys’ choir too.”

Instead of cooling his desire, her growl inflamed him. He paused when he heard the word ‘too’. Had she kneed a lot of guys in the groin? He didn’t want his family jewels crushed, but for a split second the sick thought that it would be worth it, flashed through his head.

“Remy can be a bastard but, doing an interview with him, isn’t going to make things better. They need to see each other and work things out. Rissa needs to hear his explanation in person.”

She raised her eyebrow. “You would think that, but the truth is, she can’t be in the same room with him. She needs distance.”

Kaos leaned forward, “And why can’t she be in the same room with him?”

He knew the answer, if Marissa was in the same space with Remy she would forgive him and well, they’d have sex. It was how things always were with them. Everyone could see it.

They couldn’t stop touching or looking at each other. They just needed to be in contact with one another and that was enough to settle the other one down. Kaos had witnessed this pattern on many occasions. Remy would get nervous, start throwing up and yet one phone call from Marissa and he was fine. If Marissa was nervous about something, all it took was one word from Remy and she was ready to take on the world. Kaos had envied that connection. They belonged together. They were good for each other.

Chrys shook her head, “You know why she can’t be in the same room with him. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go.”

She turned, her hair slapping him in the face. He quickly stepped back to avoid getting hit by the car door. She was about to close it when he grabbed it.

“You know I didn’t get your name.”

She shrugged. “I didn’t offer it.”

She pulled the car door closed. Kaos just barely avoided getting his fingers crushed. She started her car, put it in gear, pulled out of the parking space and drove off, leaving Kaos standing under the parking lot lights, alone.

A Taste Of Kaos Chapter 2

Thank you so much Jan. You're the best. Thanks to my crew on the Hussy Brigade. You know how we roll, now tell me who threw the wild Orgy/Party at HQ while I was gone and no one gets hurt. lol. Hugs and I hope you like latest chapter.

Chapter 2

Chrysalis walked down the hallway, her long dark brown hair swinging from side to side. She was on a mission and wouldn’t be distracted until it was accomplished. Her cell phone rang and she stopped and rummaged around her purse for it. Finding it, she answered immediately.

"What’s up Rissa? Yup I’m at the Arena. I just got in, but before I head home, I’m going to do this. Okay, meet you for drinks tomorrow. Butterfly hugs and bear kisses hon, night."
Chrysalis pushed the end button and snapped her phone shut. She readjusted her press pass and walked down the hall.

Walking through the labyrinth that made up the backstage area, she now knew that Spinal Tap was not just a good comedy, it was true. If she did get on stage, she wouldn’t resist the urge to yell out, "Hello Cleveland!" Finally she saw two women walking down the hallway. They were dressed in groupie gear. Both were wearing halter tops that hardly covered anything and skirts that were more like band aids than clothing. Instead of judging, she decided it would be better to befriend them. After all, she was no threat to them; she didn’t want any member of the band. She just wanted an interview.

She brushed back her hair over her shoulder and approached them. "Excuse me. Hi, I’m trying to find the dressing room area. Could you please direct me there? Thanks."

The girls both gave her the once over. One was a redhead, with an hour glass figure and a deep tan. Chrysalis didn’t even know why the woman was wearing make-up. She didn’t need it. The other woman was blond and top heavy. Both women were beautiful. Neither woman needed the extra help that the war paint provided. She saw the redhead look at her journalist backstage pass and smiled.

Chrys could see the woman’s mind working. Finally she said, "Down the hall, take a right."

Chrys thanked her again and was about to follow her directions when she noticed her shoes.

"Oooh, are those the new Caravan New York Night Life stilettos?" Chrys asked as she gazed down at the deep red stiletto heeled sandals that wrapped around the ankle and half the calf, before tying off. The heel was thin and barely manageable to walk in, from what Chrys could see. But damn! They make the woman’s legs look good.

"You like?" The woman gushed. "I just got them 50% off at Macy’s. Tomorrow’s the last day of the sale, if you want some you better hurry or you can just get them on line. Are those the NYC Sidewalk Stomp Ankle boots, those are cute!" The woman cooed.

Chrys grinned and stuck out her faux suede black ankle boot, lifting up the hem of her boot cut skinny jeans.

"I had to fight off a woman for the pair. They were the last 6 ½ in stock. I swear she tried to knock out a tooth. Besides, they wouldn’t have fit her. She looked like a 7 to me." Chrys said conspiratorially.

The Blonde stuck out her foot and showed off one of her own pair of emerald green stiletto shoes from Caravan.

"The L.A. Woman Nightclub Stiletto. Last one in the store, everyone overlooked it; they all wanted the Candy Apple Red. Stole it right out from under everyone."

They all giggled. Designer Caravan shoes were all the rage now, right up there with Kate Spade, Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blanicks.

"I had to order mine online. I didn’t want to get in a tug of war. Oh, I gotta go. Thanks for the directions and the sale tip."

Chrys let her pant leg slide down; waved at the girls and walked off. Heading down the hall and turning right, she knew she was in the right place. Roadies milled around. Huge containers lined the walls and groups of women; all underdressed, were talking and laughing. She walked down the hall. The click of her heels was drowned out by the commotion.

A door opened to the left of her and out of the corner of her eye she saw the object of her disdain, appear. He looked tired. His red hair, streaked with blond and black, hung limply around his shoulders. His gray-gold eyes looked worn and lifeless. Chrys watched as the groupies started toward him. He held up a hand and gave them a small, but charming smile.

"Ladies, please, let me get some rest first. It was a draining show. Why don’t you let Kaos entertain you while I get myself ready to party?"

Chrys snorted silently yeah, she could think of a few ways that he would get himself "ready to party" and all of them were not good. She brushed back her hair and walked toward the door unchallenged. She could see out of the corner of her eye the girls and roadies all eyeing her with distrust. She didn’t bother to acknowledge them. Steeling herself, she knocked.

"Ladies please, I . . ."

His voice trailed off as he started down at the woman before him. His eyes widened and life blazed back into his eyes.

"Marissa, baby!"

Before she could stop him, he advanced; grabbed and kissed her.
She shoved him away. Once they separated, she wiped her mouth and stared at him angrily. He looked at her; feeling surprised, shocked and hurt. Instead of correcting his assumption, she shoved him into the dressing room and shut the door.

"I’m not Marissa!" She informed him as she looked around.

The room was neat, lots of bottled water, but there was no scent of alcohol; no lines of cocaine, nothing at all. Just water, a pack of cigarettes, along with some clothes, bags and a stereo were evident.

"But . . ."

Chrys shook her head and noticed a small TV; the screen was frozen on a scene where a woman looked like she was giving a guy a blow job. Porn! That was how he was going to get himself ready for the party. She looked over at him and at the front of his pants. Well Mr. Happy most certainly hadn’t come out to play from what she could see. There was no telltale bulge of arousal. She shook her head and looked up at his face, which was a flaming red color.

"I’m Chrysalis, Riss’ cousin. Perhaps she mentioned me?"

Remy looked like he was thinking it over. Understanding dawned on him.

"Yeah, she did. Sorry about the kiss. You look like her only with…., well the eyes . . ."

He trailed off. Her eyes were a blue green, which was a gift from her Irish Father. She smiled fondly thinking about her father, who was undoubtedly waiting for her at the Irish Emerald Bar and Grill, with a mug of Irish Crème Hot Cocoa and willingness to lend her his ear as she told him about L.A...

"Yeah, her mother is my aunt." She said bitterly. "We look alike except for the eyes. Marissa is why I’m here."

Remy flopped down in a chair and ran a hand through his hair. He grabbed the pack of cigarettes, banged the bottom against his palm and slide out a slim tube of tobacco. He didn’t light it. He just toyed with it after putting the pack down.

"I suppose you want to yell at me too?" He asked, giving her the sad eye.

She ignored his expression and said, "She wants me to conduct an interview with you, to tell your side of what happened and then she’ll do an interview for the magazine, finally breaking her silence."

Remy looked shocked. Marissa hated the spotlight, but he guessed she was forced to react, especially after that report in the gossip column stated that she and Ben Tyron were more than just friends.

"So, she’ll respond to what I say in this interview. What paper or magazine are you from?"

"I’m from Rising Sun Music Magazine."

A dark cloud past over Remy features. "Look if you want to know what she’s thinking then you’re gonna to have to do the interview. That is, if you care anymore. I mean you’ve got all those groupies, creaming their panties at the sight of you. Perhaps you’d prefer them to Rissa?"
Remy stood up and got into her face. "None of them compares to her! Got that! You recording this? I’ll do your damn interview and prove that I still love her."

Chrys snorted. "Sorry, Jim Morrison wannabe, if you think one little interview will get you into her pants again, you’re wrong. She just wants to know why you screwed her over. And if I hadn’t promised her to play nice with you for the sake of this interview, your so-called bluesy growl would be turned into a voice that you could use to audition for the Vienna Boys Choir." Chrys shot back.

Remy sank back down into the chair. "Why the hell can’t I just talk to her?"
Chrys rolled her eyes. He was the densest lead singer she had ever met. If he didn’t know the answer to his own question, he needed to start drinking something a bit stronger to jump start his brain cells. She would suggest cyanide, but that would just kill him, not help him over the bleach blond moment he was having.

She hopped up on a stool sitting near the door and said, "Look, she’s still hurting and pissed. She walked on you fucking the lead singer of your opening act, like it’s the normal thing to do. You begged her to come to Buffalo to see you. Yet when she shows up, she catches your dick in the cookie jar. How’s she supposed to feel? She loved you, put up with the long absences and constant interruptions at dinner. Being the girlfriend of the lead singer whose band happens to be ‘the flavor of the month’ wasn’t easy. She was already feeling insecure that you were touring with the Flaming Banshees. Five cosmetic surgeries later and Deidre Maxwell looks half way to achieving her dream of being Angelina Jolie’s twin. Before all that crap, she was a gorgeous woman, who knew she was hot stuff! If you hadn’t noticed, Rissa doesn’t exactly have a lot of confidence in the looks department, especially when you have chat rooms already saying that you were going to leave her for someone ‘much more in your range’- Like Deidre! Rissa thinks that pleasing you is the way to get you to love her. She didn’t put too much stress on her looks. Rissa thought that was the reason why you stuck around."

Chrys held back her own tears. She loved her cousin dearly and hated her Aunt Delia for emphasizing a person’s looks over personality, when attracting a man.
Remy was quiet.

"She wants this interview to clear the air and figure out where you’re at. Since it was dragged out publically, then it will be finished publically. "
Remy looked up and narrowed his eyes. "What does that mean?"

Chrys sighed. "I’m what Riss calls the ‘The Human bullshit meter’. She wants this interview with me to prove whether or not you’re sincere in your desire to start over and start fresh. Look I’m not going to lie to you. She has been seeing Ben Tyron; he’s an old friend from college. She doesn’t follow football too closely, so she had no idea how big he really is in the sports world. But the problem is you! She has no idea about you. Ever since that day, she’s doubted everything you’ve ever told her. She wants to move on; tried to, but dammit she still loves you. This interview will be either closure or a door opener. That’s all I can say."

Chrys hopped down off the stool and rummaged around in her purse. She pulled out a silver and black card and handed it to him.

"This is my business card showing my name, cell number, office number, and the number of my editor as well as my home phone. Don’t use the last one unless its emergency and you’re on fire. But even then, don’t call me; I’d probably throw alcohol on you."

Remy accepted the card. "So, exactly why are you talking to him and not the whole band?" A deep gravelly voice asked from behind her. The voice traveled up her spine and caused her legs to turn to jelly. She turned around and swore, knowing full well she was in trouble.

A Taste of Kaos Chapter 1

Thanks to my editor Jan and everyone who read TR. This is for you. Thanks again, I hope you like Kaos' story.

Chapter 1

I paint my walls black

So I reflect my blood on the inside.

I crave you.

Need you.

But I reach for you

And you're not there.

Where are you love?

Where did you go?

I bleed for you still.

I ache for you.

Please come back to me.

Don't leave me lying here in my blood and tears.

I'm on my knees love.

Please don't leave me

God I love you still.

Your smile, your laugh

Your taste, the way you walk to the bed.

Come back to me love.

Come back to me.

Please don't leave me like this

I'm dying without you.

Kaos watched Remy Bane slide down to the floor; tears in his eyes as he crooned 'Don't Leave Me'. Girls in the front row were screaming and waving their hands. Tears were in their eyes, but Remy didn't see them. He only saw Marissa Lewis, the girl that left him after she had walked in on him having sex with the female lead singer of their former opening act. That had been two years ago and still Remy cried about it. Kaos shook his head as he watched his friend tear himself apart yet again for the crowd. Although he couldn't blame Rissa for leaving, Remy had been stupid and out of control.

Kaos continued to play the acoustic guitar as Remy growled out the last line of the song. He rose and bowed to the crowd; his eyeliner ruined, forming thick black trails of tears down his cheek.
Kaos remembered when he had first heard and saw his friend perform the song. He too had been moved, but that had been two years ago. Now looking at his friend the only thing Kaos could think was, "If that's what love does to you, then I'm never falling in love, ever."

Kaos walked backstage after Remy. He smiled devilishly at some of the women who were of every shape, size and background. God he loved being a rock star. Remy ignored them, walking past the groupies and headed for the dressing room area.

"Where's he going?" Dane their drummer asked.

Kaos just shrugged. "He's probably going to call Rissa and jerk off while we get ready for the encore. You're up Dane." Spike said, smacking Dane in the back.

Dane grinned twirling his drumsticks in his hands. He gave the boys a salute, bowed to the ladies and headed on stage for his drum solo.

Kaos sighed. Marissa refused to talk to any of them still after two years. She continued to blame them for allowing Remy to get so wasted that night. They had tried to calm him down, but they failed spectacularly. He pissed them off so much that no-one wanted to deal with him. How were they supposed to know that he would end up fucking Deidre Maxwell in his dressing room, before the show? They had known that Marissa would be there; after all, Remy had been talking about her visit non stop since she agreed to come.

Remy hadn't just hurt her that day; he had hurt everyone in the band. They had to reschedule the concert, claiming a stomach bug. Their publicity machine went into overdrive, making it seem like Remy really did want to sing for them, when in reality he was too wasted to do anything.

The next day, they had to ‘drop’ one of their opening acts and find a replacement. Kaos sighed. Remy had never been the same since that day. He called Rissa, daily. Each phone call was dismissed. Kaos had recently seen her best friend, Callisto who interceded on Rissa’s behalf; enlisting Kaos’ help. Rissa wanted no further contact with Remy. His calls upset her too much. It was bad enough that some nosy reporter had leaked her name, after discovering that Rissa was the inspiration for most of Remy's lyrics on their new album ‘Torn Apart Again’. Now reporters kept calling her house, asking for all the juicy details of their breakup. Deidre made things worse by giving an interview with ‘Rising Sun’ magazine. She gave salacious insights into Remy’s prowess in the sack, as well as regaling the media with the real reason as to why her band had been kicked off the Torn Apart tour. She pretty much ripped the band apart in her interview. Now everywhere they went, they were asked to confirm or deny Deidre's claims.

Kaos started to massage his temples. Thank god this was the last stop on the tour before the break, otherwise he'd go mad. Instead of heading over to see his brothers, he decided to see Rissa and find out how she was doing. He remembered Callisto had told him that Rissa had gotten a new boyfriend. Everyone knew but Remy. If he found out, Kaos knew his friend would go ape shit.

Remy emerged from his dressing room about halfway into the drum solo. "Call her." He said, shoving the cell phone into Kaos' hand. Kaos rolled his eyes and dialled Marissa's number from memory. After the third ring the answering machine switched on and Kaos spoke. "Hey, Riss, it's the K-Man. Look, can I talk to you; it's about Rem? Call me okay!"

Kaos ended the call and switched off the phone. He handed it back to Remy and gave him a, 'Are you happy now?" look on his face.

"Thanks!" Remy said giving him a weak smile.

"Look just give her time, okay? She’s still hurting, it doesn't help that the media has been harassing her. And that Deidre interview didn't score you any points. How could you go there, you knew from the start that Deidre wanted to bang you and tell the world about it?"

Remy shrugged and Kaos rolled his eyes. The drum solo was over and Remy sauntered back on the stage followed by Kaos and Spike.
